The Aquaponics Lab develops and manufacture affordable and replicable technologies to optimize, monitor and control agricultural systems: Aquaculture, hydroponics and soil base. Over the last few years we have engineered and implemented a range of technological solutions (e.g. monitoring systems for aquaculture, automatic fish feeders, low-cost air actuated valves, dibblers & drop seeders) assisting in an increase in efficiency, functionality and convenience of farming/aquatic ecosystems for companies, community-based organizations, universities and cooperatives in the UK and abroad.

The technologies we prioritize are low-cost, based on local resources, commodity components and/or digital fabrication (i.e laser cutting and 3D printing). As such, they translate into solutions that not only effectively address the problems at hand but are also easily replicable as well as financially/logistically accessible for low and middle-income countries.
